DRILL’S DI ATAS KERTAS

Drills merupakan bagian upaya pelaut dalam memproteksi dan persiapan menghadapi situasi marabahaya selama bekerja di atas kapal yang dapat timbul dan terjadi sewaktu-waktu. Namun kenyataan di lapangan masih banyak kapal yang tidak melaksanakan drills dengan rutin dan mengesampingkan aturan SOLAS 1974. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan tidak dilaksanakannya drills sesuai dengan ketentuan tersebut. Penelitian mengunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan responden sebanyak 160 orang. Hasil penelitian, yang menjadi penyebab tidak konsistennya dilaksanakan drills di kapal adalah; rute pelayaran yang pendek, beban operasional kerja kapal, kurangnya dukungan dari operator kapal dan mentalitas awak kapal
