A navigational watch is a 24-hour surveillance activity conducted on board by the officer on watch. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of watchkeeping procedures during sea watch hours on the bridge of the SPOB TIRTA SAMUDRA XX. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of navigational watch procedures on the SPOB TIRTA SAMUDRA XX is generally effective, as duty officers demonstrate high responsibility and adhere to the COLREGs (International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea). However, there remains a lack of vigilance among some watch officers and helmsmen during surveillance. Consequently, strict compliance with STCW 1978 standards and the COLREGs is essential to ensure operational safety and prevent maritime accidents.
